Background

Welcome to the Ontario Barn Quilt Trails.  This web-site is a resource for people who want to put a quilt block up on their property. Or perhaps your organization wants to do a community project.  Please register your barn quilts and tell us about your project. We want to track them all and help our day trippers explore Ontario. Everyone is getting on the barn quilt trail!

Temiskaming painted more than 100. Wardsville installed 30.  A community cannot have too many barn quilts. Spying them unexpectedly in the rural landscape is a pleasure.  The challenge is to use the barn quilts as a form of community economic development – a visitor draw. The goal is for barn quilts to go viral.

Every community has a story to tell. Barn quilts provides a means to draw attention to important places in that history that are not otherwise marked.  A barn quilt trail can be the catalyst for that special relationship between community and visitor.

  1. I am looking into having a barn quilt trail along the county where I live or withint the local area. I went to Orleans County, NY and saw their trail.

I am also interested in labrynth quilts. I currently have one in progress and find it challenging. The one I am making is a block labrynth but am interested in creating many of them in other patterns.
